West Oʻahu Job Seekers Invited to Hiring Event on February 29
The City and County of Honolulu and the University of Hawaiʻi Community Colleges are hosting a free West Oʻahu job fair on February 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Leeward Community Collegeʻs Education Building, Room #201, 96-045 Ala ʻIke.
“Connecting our neighbors to good jobs with local companies is vital to our strategy to create a more equitable and diverse economy,” said Amy Asselbaye, Executive Director of the Office of Economic Revitalization. “We appreciate the opportunity to partner with Leeward Community College to support West Oʻahu job seekers and businesses.”
Carlos Penaloza, Chancellor of Leeward Community College, noted, “We are grateful to serve as the host site for this important hiring event. Our campus is committed to helping meet our community’s workforce and education needs and looking forward to building fulfilling and successful futures together.”
Forty-five companies that are ready to hire are expected to be at the event. Job seekers are encouraged to bring copies of their resume and, as needed, examples of their work.
The City and County of Honolulu will also be recruiting at the event. City jobs have excellent health and retirement benefits, opportunities to advance in a career at the City, and work that helps improve life for our neighbors and our communities.
Job seekers can contact the American Job Center Hawaii at (808) 768-5701 for help getting ready for the hiring event, including printing their resumes, or to register. There will be free parking at the college’s Lot 2: go.hawaii.edu/nr8
The event is organized by the Office of Economic Revitalization, the American Job Center Hawaii, and the UH Community Colleges as part of their participation in the Counties for Career Success Cohort.
